Good morning everyone! It's been a couple of days but it's been crazy at the Newsholme house. We are hoping November will be a better month to get back on track with family time. It seems that life got in the way this past month and even though we have been walking with Christ, we haven't had much time to spend as a family unit. So November is slated for tons of family time and more empowerment from the holy spirit as a family.
Lately I have found out that my kids don't need to just watch a movie with me, or go bowling, or go to the mall or anything like that. They are very content and love singing while I play the piano. Now I played the keys for over 20 years but really haven't played in the past 3. So I picked up a new keyboard, mics and mixer and hooked everything up in our movie room. I started learning some new worship songs, easy ones, and had the kids start singing to the music. What I found out was amazing. First, Mya has an incredible singing voice but she just needs more confidence. The twins although they might be off key and are still young, they know all the words to all the songs without even looking at the sheet music. AMEN?
So today, I'm going to post some really short videos of our past two nights together. Please comment or let me know what you think through email or text. We would really appreciate any advice and thoughts.
So first is Mya singing "Set a fire"!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGsGlyQ_vlk
Next is Mya singing "How he loves"!

Now Mya used to take Piano lessons but is now taking guitar lessons. But the past week she's been practicing this new Katie Perry song. So here she is on the keys!

Anyway, I cannot stress enough how important family life is and how important it is to spend quality time with not only your kids, but your spouse. You see, mine and Kim's relationship has jumped to a level that neither of us thought would be possible. We do date night every week, we have an honesty chair that whenever something is bothering us we sit in there and talk things out, we take long walks together and we talk at least 3 times a day on the phone no matter what. We never go to bed mad and always kiss each other goodbye and hello. They key component of all of this: Honesty! I always tell Kim, you can never say anything that hurts me. We can always talk it out. If I did something to hurt her, I deserve to own it and listen to it and work through the situation. You see, when you let it stew in your system, it will sooner or later come out and be 10 times worse. Don't be afraid to talk to each other. And make sure you HEAR each other and not just LISTEN.
Other than that, God is great. He is all around our house and family. He is everywhere, Everyday. He never lets us fall and when it feels like we are, he is there to catch us! What a wonderful feeling. Full of Christ every moment of everyday.

Day 77 - Temptation?!?!?
Good morning everyone. I was dealing with some stomach issues the past few days but I am not feeling 100% better. Sorry for not writing those couple of days. But I'm writing to let everyone know that everything is just fine and dandy. Today I want to touch base on temptation. A lot of people lately have been asking me about what the bible says about temptation. Does God tempt us? Does the devil tempt us? Why does God let this happen? Well here are my thoughts about temptation that I can best interpret from the bible. Hope you enjoy:
God does NOT tempt us, however He allows it to happen. He doesn't do this to punish us, rather He allows us to go through these struggles that come upon us as part of our lives in a sinful world. Mostly because they are caused by our own actions. He's doing this for a purpose: to help build our faith and to help us grow spiritually. You see, spiritual growth comes mostly from what we learn in the hard times of our lives, not the easy times.
So, is temptation a test that God puts us through to see if we will pass or fail?
God does NOT tempt us, however He allows it to happen. He doesn't do this to punish us, rather He allows us to go through these struggles that come upon us as part of our lives in a sinful world. Mostly because they are caused by our own actions. He's doing this for a purpose: to help build our faith and to help us grow spiritually. You see, spiritual growth comes mostly from what we learn in the hard times of our lives, not the easy times.
So, is temptation a test that God puts us through to see if we will pass or fail?
James 1:13-15
When tempted, no one should say, "God is temping me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death!!!
You see, temptation STARTS inside of you, and it will grow and lead you into sin UNLESS you seek God's help to deal with it. We often say that other people are tempting us, but there is no way that anyone can tempt you with something THAT YOU DON'T ALREADY WANT! Let's break that down, if you REALLY didn't want it, would it be called a temptation? NO!
Let's take a look at how we can deal with temptation. I believe there is one verse, no a promise, in the bible that is most important about temptation.
1 Corinthians 10:13
No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful, he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.
This is such an important verse to me. God knows we will be tempted by man, by the devil, but he promises that it's nothing we can't handle if we truly follow God! AMEN?
So today, when you feel tempted or someone or something is tempting you, know it's not God. He will not stop it from happening because we live in a world of sin. Instead, he will allow us to overcome the temptation through Jesus Christ. And because of this, our faith will continue to grow.
So I ask you this morning in prayer, to "Put on the whole Armor of God, That you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil!" - Ephesians 6:11
I am tempted every day of my life. But I know these temptations are normal in today's society. And I also know that I can choose to give in or I can choose Jesus to help me. And so far, Jesus has never let me down. He will never let me down. He is there to catch me when I am falling. It's a wonderful thing, you should all get on board! Your world and life will never be the same! AMEN?
BIBLE QUOTE OF THE DAY: Hebrews 2:18
For because he himself has suffered when tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.

Day 73 - Long Crazy Weekend!
Good morning everyone. I know I haven't updated this blog since Friday but it has been one crazy weekend!!!!
Between soccer tournaments, church, movie night with Lakewood Football, and activities with 4 children I couldn't even find time to write this weekend. Today and tomorrow will be somewhat busy for me as well since last minute tax returns are due on October 15th.
Update on Pastor Brian is that he is ok. Accident was pretty bad and his work van was totalled but he's just a little sore. We still need to pray for the other party involved in the accident.
As for me, I'm just a little tired this morning from a long weekend and find it hard to concentrate. I'm in a mood today and don't know why. Hopefully I will break out of it soon.
Yesterday at http://aliveagainalliance.com/ service, Pastor Bill gave a great sermon / bible study. Something that really makes you think. I know I will probably butcher most of what he said but here's what I got out of it.
The first thing I remember out of everything he said was, "When the Lord looks at us, he doesn't see what other people see!" Wow. Never really thought of it that way. When we fail, succeed, lie, do good deeds, whatever it is, the people of this world see that! They see us for our actions. They see us by our expressions and moods. Sometimes we are even judged! I used to see a homeless man on the side of the street and the first thing that would pop into my head is, "He's probably heading to the liquor store if I gave him some money!" Isn't that awful???? Isn't that horrible??? But the reality is that most people see that man and think the same thing because of what we see on the news, because of what we hear on the radio, because what society tells us to think of that man! Now most people would look at him as a failure. Wondering as they walked on by how come he can't get a job? How come he's begging for money? What will he do with the money if I gave it to him? And we would judge him based on his appearance. But God doesn't judge. God doesn't see him as a failure. God's will and plan's for this man were already put in place a long time ago. Sometime when we are weak, we are at our strongest.
I get judged all the time especially at work. Clients look at my office and say, "It must be nice!" or friends look at my home and say, "Business must be good, you sure are lucky!" So some might think or (judge) me thinking that we are "well off" as society says. But the only one that sees me for me is God. He doesn't judge and he definitely does not perceive! You see, yes I have a nice office and a big house. Perception would say that I'm doing great. But perception isn't always right. Owning your own business is not as easy as everyone thinks. Sometimes I would love to just collect a weekly paycheck. I can go 8 months without receiving income sometimes. But the bills still need to be paid. The payroll is always there. My health insurance is still 21k a year! (Thanks Obama). And as far as my house.....yes it's nice....it's big....but we are using every square inch of the house. I dare someone to find extra space in my house that's not in use. I even have to pay for a storage unit because we don't have enough space.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that you can't judge a book by it's cover. Things aren't always what they seem to be. We need to change our perspective. We need to change our perception. We need to stop judging. Only our Lord and Savor Jesus Christ sees and know what we are all about! And that's all that we should care about. You can look at me and think what you want, I don't care. I am only trying to impress one person in my life....God! And I am trying to impress him by living the way He intended me to live.
Now I ask you, how am I any different from the homeless man? Am I going to heaven over him because I have a house, a family, a business, possessions????? NO!!!!! God knows our intentions and knows everything we do. I was so caught up with what society threw up at me this weekend that I didn't have the normal time to pray and worship. Maybe the homeless man prays and give thanks to God everyday for being alive. Do we do that? Are we better than him??? No!!!!! One day that could be any one of us. Now if that was me, would your perception tell you I failed? Of course it would. But what if I decided to give it all up, lay it all down for the Kingdom of God and say, "Lord, use me the way you intend to. I gave up all my possessions, I gave up everything for you. I now have the TIME for you to use me according to YOUR will not MINE!" If I did that, everyone would perceive me to have failed. But in reality, I WON! I laid my life down for Christ! Only HE looks at us and can see what other people can't see!
So I now ask you to think of what your life is like. Do you care more about what other people think of you or do you care only about what HE thinks of you? The answer should be easy. We need to find our vision in today's tough society. Not our vision, but God's intention for us. We need to find our purpose in life. Not society's purpose, but God's purpose for us. We have all been broken. Some of us are still broken. But we need to step out of the brokenness for we are strong when we are weak. We need to surrender. Surrender our sins, surrender our wants and needs and give everything to God. It's time to carry OUR crosses. So let's be effective! Make a change. Not the change society wants for us, but God's vision for us! AMEN?

Day 70 - Football and Prayer!
Good afternoon everyone. Today's post is going to be short. I apologize.
I'm trying to get the house ready for a movie night with the Lakewood Football Team. Pastor Brian, Pastor Bill and Lew had set this up for tonight. We are watching Facing the Giants. So please pray for a great night of fellowship.
Also, Pastor Brian was on his way to pick up the church van to bring some kids here and got into a car accident. He was transported to the hospital but is signing himself out to be here tonight. I don't know how the other driver is or even how hurt Pastor Brian is so prayers for all involved is necessary.
I will update everyone tomorrow on tonight's event and most importantly Pastor Brian.

Day 69 - Alive Again & Youth Rally
Good morning everyone! Even though it's a rainy day, I feel great. We can find God anywhere...even in raindrops, sunshine, home or work. Amen?
Today I just want to mention a couple things. Short and sweet. Alive Again Alliance Church is so amazing. Everyone who attends immediately becomes family. We have services every Sunday and all is invited. Please come check out what we are all about. It's pretty simple. We live out the love and life of Jesus Christ her, there and everywhere! And when we are sent, we GO: Anywhere, Anytime to Anybody. We praise God with live worship music, learn from our pastors, pray and end with worship. It really is an awesome time at service. How many people can actually say they look forward to going to church? Well for me and my family, we will serve the Lord and we look forward every week to service. So please, come join us to "Find Jesus" in your life!
http://aliveagainalliance.com/
Also, this Saturday is a youth rally at Union Church of Lavallette. There will be food, games, fellowship, new friendships made, prayer and worship. It will be fun for everyone. Last youth rally was amazing and most kids who left were already asking when the next one would be. Well, it's here. It's Saturday! So come join us for a great time. Let me know if you need a ride, I can pick anyone up who would like to attend!
All my kids will be there and have some friends coming too. Don't be shy. It will be fun.

Day 68 - It's a good morning!
Day 68 - Praise God! Prayer night was amazing last night. God really showed up through live worship and prayer. It's a great mid week kick in the butt to motivate us for the rest of the week. We don't go there for the purpose of fellowship even though we get that there. We go to be filled with the Holy Spirit so when we leave than the rest of the week we are filled with God's love and share it with the world. Amen?
Ever have those mornings when you just don't want to get out of bed? You just know it's gonna be a tough day? You just feel like nothing good is going to happen? I do. But then I pray. And God listens. And he tells me to get out of bed, take a shower and KEEP MOVING FORWARD. He tells me not to be anxious for their is nothing I can do about it. There is nothing I can do on my own but through HIM I can do anything. And after prayer and worship in the car and totally trusting God with my plans, his will for me, I get to work knowing that things will be fine. Amen?
I am blessed today to have my daughter at work with me because she has off from school. She came to me late last night with a problem her friend from school told her about. Mya came out to me and told me what was going on. She believes that God is sending these girls to her with their problems because she knows that answers to all the problems and can share those answers. Every question has the same answer! JESUS is the answer. She will talk with this girl and give her Jesus. Maybe this is the start of her bible study at school? Maybe this is the Holy Spirit working though her. Whatever the reason, she is shining the light of God reflecting from her body and speaking the word of Jesus from her mouth. She is sent, and she said she would go and she is running....not walking! It's amazing to watch and witness and be a part of her life in this way to help lead her to the right decisions.
Mya is 14 years old and can still come to her lame old dad for anything and it's awesome. She tells me 3 times a day she loves me and she's always honest with me even if she did something wrong and knows I wouldn't find out about it. She is never afraid to kiss or hug me in public and always tells her friends that she's excited when I have to drive them somewhere because I'm the cool dad who makes riding in the car alot of fun! So I must be doing something right! AMEN?
I want to share with you a letter my daughter wrote to me close to a year ago. I used to keep it in my pocket but now I have it on my wall:
Now, wouldn't the world be a better place if all of our youth were like this? How do we make that happen? By loving them, being there, leading them, teaching them and most importantly giving them Jesus! AMEN?

AMEN?

Day 67 - Wish come True!
Good afternoon everyone. Sorry for the short post last night but I was very tired after a long day. You see, I mentioned before that Kim and I started a non profit called "Time for Action"!
Our God is an amazing God! They will be at prayer service tonight praying and worshiping right along side of us at our Tuesday Night Alive Again prayer service. Please continue to pray for this family as their journey with Christ is just starting!

Over the past few weeks we have been taking donations and helping our one certain special family. They were really down on their luck. They felt like the hit rock bottom. But God led them to Alive Again Pig Roast at Ocean County Park two weeks ago and that's when Kim and I got to sit down with them. They told us their story and their plans. They were going to be homeless in less than a week. Even though it was a really tight time frame, we couldn't let them fail. So it was time for action.
During the first week we helped out with food and hotel bills. Then the father got a job in Princeton and didn't have a car and was going to turn the job down. We said no way! So every morning I got up early, drove to seaside, drove him to Princeton, drove to Matawan to work and then picked him up at Princeton, drove him to seaside and then back home. 16 Hour Days! But God told me this needed to be done. After 3 days of walking around like a zombie, I sat in my office and prayed. "God, why do you have me driving all this way?" I couldn't understand it. Then it dawned on me. I'm asking for God's help but I needed to ask for others help as well. So I called a friend who owned a used car lot and he donated a car to me the next day! I got insurance on the car and happily drove it down to seaside to deliver the car.
In the meantime, we were looking everywhere for a rental. For certain reasons, they couldn't rent because of some issues that arose from the past. So I was losing hope. Not faith. Hope.
But God said to us, "Winter Rental!" and that's where we looked. And sure enough we found a 3 bedroom place that would fit the whole family. One problem, he wanted the full seven months rent and security split into 2 payments. Ughhhhh!!! "God, we are a brand new non profit.....we can't afford this!" But I didn't hear an answer. So I prayed. And Prayed. And just when I thought there was nothing more that could be done, God answered my prayers. A client donated enough money to cover the first required payment. Then gift cards started coming in. Then bedding and clothes. It was amazing.
So last night we called the family and said pack your stuff, we are moving tonight! Pastor Brian and his kids met Kim and I at the apartment last night and we all helped move out of the apartment. We took three cars and drove 2 miles to their new home. I cannot even explain the emotions that were going around the house.
Pastor Brian prayed over the family and blessed the house and then needed to take his kids home before it was too late after helping move the family into their house! Thank you Pastor Brian.....you ROCK!
Kim and I spent time with the family helping them unpack and realized they needed more food. So off to A&P we went and stocked up the house. By the time everything was said and done, we didn't get home until midnight. But it was soooooooooooooooooooooooo worth it. God showed up yesterday. God has shown up everyday for this family and it's amazing. They really deserve the best!

Day 65 - Church today, Friendship yesterday!
Good morning everyone. What an amazing day it has been so far. I woke up at 5:30am, got my coffee and say outside for two hours reading Matthew and worshiping before Church this morning. Kinda like a pre-game God tailgate! Excited to Alive Again today because of the outreach the church has been doing we are hopeful that a lot of new faces will show up today!
So yesterday Myself, and my three boys; Billy and his daughter, Jennifer and her 3 kids went to great adventure. We got there at 4 before fright fest started. Mya, Lia and Rome went off by themselves and the rest of us did everything together. Elijah faced his fear and went on El Toro and it was awesome.
We then all went together around the park. The kids usually talked with the kids and Billy, Jen and Myself had a great day getting to know each other even better. But when the nighttime came, the little ones were afraid of the zombies. And I think we all were a little bit. It was pretty funny watching all of us hold hands and run to the exit. Still laughing this morning.
Bill and I both mentioned that before we left for Six Flags we were feeling tired and had to psyche ourselves up to go because it's all about fellowship and the kids. After 10 minutes there, we realized it was going to be a fantastic day. I am really looking forward to spending more quality time with my church family and the friendships I have made!
Have a blessed day everyone. And don't forget.....Pray......for the Jets.....we need it! LOL

Day 64 - Get your God on!
Hello again faithful readers. Today should be a fantastic day. Me and the kids are going to Great Adventure with Bill Sagarese and his kids and hopefully Jennifer Elias and her kids. Really looking forward to a great day!
Yesterday was an up and down emotional roller coaster for me. But all ended well with date night with Kim. We walked the Manasquan river until it was so dark we couldn't see 5 feet in front of us just caught up in conversation. We went out to dinner last night and came home and crashed on the couch.
I always go to the Manasquan River when something is bothering me. And every time I have been there, God always shows up in the craziest of ways. Not once that I have been there have I not have a conversation with God and have left without answers. So this brings up a great question for today! You can comment or email me or text me if you'd like to respond. Here it is:
So we know that when we seek out God, he will show up. This is mentioned many of times in the bible. But how many times do you seek out God? Do you seek him only in times of need? Do you see him in praise in worship? Do you seek him to just plainly say thanks?
But from there you will seek the Lord your God and you will find him, if you search after him with all your heart and with all your soul.
And here is the biggest promise of all! Out of every thing I have read in the bible concerning seeking God, this to me is the most important:
Have a great Saturday everyone. Seek God today and let him take you over!

I always go to the Manasquan River when something is bothering me. And every time I have been there, God always shows up in the craziest of ways. Not once that I have been there have I not have a conversation with God and have left without answers. So this brings up a great question for today! You can comment or email me or text me if you'd like to respond. Here it is:
Where do you find God the most????
Now this is a crazy questions because we all know that in the book of "Matthew 7:7 it says:
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you."So we know that when we seek out God, he will show up. This is mentioned many of times in the bible. But how many times do you seek out God? Do you seek him only in times of need? Do you see him in praise in worship? Do you seek him to just plainly say thanks?
Or do you wait around just hoping that he will show up in your life?
Because if you are just waiting for him to work miracles, it's probably not going to happen. So many people walk around and look at other people and think we do good things always happen to him and not me? Why is he so lucky? Why does everything seem to work out for that family?
Have you ever stopped to think that those people are constantly seeking God and it's HIS WILL? That they constantly pray and God is answering their prayers. That they truly believe that if they leave their life in God's hands he will provide? The simple answer is YES! So again, how often are you seeking God? Are you going to just living the life you think you should be living and hope God handles your rough patches? Because he won't!
I can honestly say that I seek God numerous times in the day. I start my day with prayer on the back patio. God is there! I drive to work and listen to worship songs. God is there next to me making sure my seatbelt it on! I know this because of that annoying bell that rings every 5 minutes if I don't wear it. That's God reminding me to be safe! I get to work and I ask for God to bless the office and everyone in the office. God is there! I come home and pray with my family before dinner. God is there! I read the bible with my wife at night some times and GOD IS DEFINITELY THERE! And when I rest my head on the pillow at night I thank God for everything he is doing in our lives! And he says to me, "Your welcome child. You are living the life as a disciple of my Son Jesus and I have a house for you ready in My Kingdom when I call for you!"
Are we doing enough to get us into the pearly gates? Do you feel you could stand before God and honestly say I deserve to be in here? Even if you think it's enough, If God doesn't believe so, you may not enter. Sometimes we lie to get our way in society. And we may fool the people we are trying to fool and think we get away with it. But God knows we lied! And He's the one that you have to answer to on judgement day!
Are you just doing enough to get buy? Are you really seeking God all the time. Because when you seek God, he answers, he helps, he provides, he gives us directions and gives us answers. But you need to seek God with all your heart. Not half, not a quarter, with ALL your heart.
You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.
That they should seek God, in the hope that they might feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us.But from there you will seek the Lord your God and you will find him, if you search after him with all your heart and with all your soul.
And here is the biggest promise of all! Out of every thing I have read in the bible concerning seeking God, this to me is the most important:
I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me.
God is making us a promise. One that no one should refuse! Let's look at it backwards: Those who seek me DILIGENTLY find me, and I LOVE THOSE WHO LOVE ME!
When you love someone, do you let them fail? Are you always there for them? Do you always have your back? God is promising all of that!
Lastly, where is the place you seek and find God the most? Church, prayer, conversations, bible study, your house? Where? For me it's the Manasquan River. I don't know why and I don't care to understand why. But I trust that when I really need to have a conversation with God, this is my "go to" place!

For at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.Have a great Saturday everyone. Seek God today and let him take you over!

Day 63 - Missionary???
Good morning everyone. I'm at work early this morning to try and get a head start on work that needs to be done. The past few days have been rough with my time management but at the same time has been so full filling. When I started our Non Profit "Time for Action" I really didn't think it would take as much time during the week as it has been taking. I knew I was called by God to help others in need, I just didn't know to what extent. It started by helping a family with clothing needs. Then it was throwing a party and inviting our church Alive Again and inviting new people. Then God laid on my heart a family that was in a rough situation with a really tight deadline. And Kim and I decided to help. This is when I realized that God has called me to be a "missionary!"
What is a missionary? A person sent on a religious mission, esp. one sent to promote Christianity and of, relating to, or characteristic of a missionary or a religious mission. But I believe there is more to the definition.
The same way God sent Jesus to save the world is the same way God is sending me to families to save them. Yes, it includes helping them financially, taking time to teach the bible, teaching them to budget but most importantly to teach them and lead them to Jesus. Not by enabling them to continue their ways, but to lead by example and show them that I am living the life I believe Jesus wants me to live and it is a blessings not only to me, but to everyone we help because they will turn that blessing around and be able to bless another person in thee future.
In the beginning, we thought we could handle this non profit on our own. Well we know we can't do anything on our own, right??? But I needed more help to shoulder the burden of the time and financial resources than I originally thought I could handle. I finally asked around for help, mostly from our church and they are going to get involved. You see, some missions are easy. But others are more time consuming. And when I put my mind to something, I won't fail. I will do anything not to fail other people. But at some point you have to remind yourself that during the process, you can't forget about your family and your job and prayer and praise. You can't totally commit 100% of your time to your mission. You will get quickly burned out and lose sight of the ultimate goal. Sometimes you have to just say I can't do this part and trust that God will provide. Amen?
It's tough when you become emotionally and personally attached to these families. And some families either through tough times, unemployment, loss of house have fallen into situations that they feel they cannot get out of. But as a missionary, I need to detach my emotions so that I do not feel the same feelings of the people I am helping. Fear, anxiety, lost. We all need to trust that through Christ all things are possible and simply just pray! 80% of missionary work is prayer. Maybe even higher!
Why was I called so quickly to become an missionary? I believe it is first because it is God's will. Second because I am the type of person who always tries to help everyone and always tries to find a solution. And lastly, it blesses me to be able to bless others and point them into the direction of Jesus!
The thing that needs to be remembered is that the controlling factor is not the needs of people, but the COMMAND of Jesus. You see, God is behind me, helping me. My inspiration is to go, go, go and get it done to see the success of the mission but I need to realize that the inspiration has to be put behind me, to know that God is behind all of this and my job is to carry out his plans and his will. No matter what I do, God has the power to change it. So I need to keep my mind focused that I am just following out his will not only for the people I am helping, but God's will for me and my family. Amen?
There are so many people with so many needs in today's world. The danger of getting emotionally attached and feeling helping through sympathy is that is will overwhelm the people you are helping and lose sight of the fact that I am sent from Jesus! This is his will, this is his work, this is him working through me!
And the reward is amazing. You see, most people you help are so humbled that you may feel like they do not appreciate the help even though they do. And that's not the reason why we help these people to look for emotional satisfaction. The real blessing is when other people around them see what you are doing for them notice a difference and say, Wow, what does he have that I don't have? Why is he spending this time to help others? And the answer is simple, I have Jesus! Walking in the footsteps of Christ. I can drive 80 miles to help someone and be there in little over an hour in my car, buy Jesus would walk the 80 miles, with hardly and food or water just to save on person! The questions is, how could we not????? Amen?
A great example is last night I showed up late to the Lakewood Football team spaghetti dinner for the player before each game that Alive Again puts on for these kids and coaches. Almost everyone was gone but I needed to talk to my Pastor Brian. The head coach of the team was there. He came up to me and said he waited to meet me in person to thank me for everything I have been doing for the football team and their families. I said Your Welcome and then gave all the Glory to God! Walking out the door he introduced me to two other men who said "Oh your the Scott that's been amazing in helping out!" And I said yes, Our God is amazing! Again, all the Glory to God!
I don't know where this journey is going to take me yet. I haven't figured it out. I just pray everyday and hope I'm doing my best and living the way God intends me to live, for his plan, for his will. But I'll tell you what, it's a great ride.
Driving to work today I was listening to a song that really made me realize yesterday that nothing can be done on our own. Here are some lyrics. It's also the SONG OF THE DAY and called "Help me Find It" by Sidewalk Prophets! Please listen to the song on the link, it's amazing!!!!!

HELP ME FIND IT
I don’t know where to go from here,It all used to seem so clear
I’m finding I can’t do this on my own,I don’t know where to go from here
As long as I know that You are near,
I’m done fighting,I’m finally letting go,I will trust in You,You’ve never failed before
I will trust in You
[Chorus:]
If there’s a road I should walk,Help me find it
If I need to be still,Give me peace for the moment
Whatever Your will,Whatever Your will
Can you help me find it,Can you help me find it
I’m giving You fear and You give faith,I giving you doubt
You give me grace,For every step I’ve never been alone
Even when it hurts, You’ll have Your way,Even in the valley I will say
With every breath,You’ve never let me go
I will wait for You,You’ve never failed before,I will wait for You
I’m finding I can’t do this on my own,I don’t know where to go from here
As long as I know that You are near,
I’m done fighting,I’m finally letting go,I will trust in You,You’ve never failed before
I will trust in You
[Chorus:]
If there’s a road I should walk,Help me find it

With every breath,You’ve never let me go
I will wait for You,You’ve never failed before,I will wait for You

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
I pray that everyone has an amazing Friday and wonderful weekend! I am spending time with my Boys and my Friend Billy from Church at Great Adventure on Saturday while our girls walk around together to get to know each other some more! Looking forward to it Billy!

Day 62 - Prayer / Work
What an amazing morning! Hope everyone feels the same way. Two more days in the work week and then it's the weekend.
As I was praying this morning and thinking about everything that has happened in the past 62 days it's hard to come up with one subject for this mornings post since there is so much to talk about. So as I was praying I was reminded of prayer service on Tuesday night. One of the most common problems that we prayed about is work. Alive Again is filled with people who need work and I continue to pray for them. At the same time, I figured this was a great place to showcase some talent to see if anyone reading this post might have a need for some of our church family's talents. I might miss some people and might butcher the spelling but if you want to be added I can always edit the post later and add you. As you are reading, please pray for these people and look at your current needs and your friends needs to see if anyone could use these services!
Alive Again: Although not a need for work, just an amazing place to become part of our family to praise and worship our Lord Jesus Christ. We also have many ministries going on that may help your needs. So check out the website and see if we can help renew your faith in God or continue your faith walking with Jesus.

His rates are very reasonable and he is a Man of God so you get the best of both worlds. If you want more information about his services, please comment and I will get it to him.
Marc Kleinman: Mark does all the graphic design for our church. He can create logos, help with websites, order business cards, letterheads and much much more. Again, if this is your need, please support an amazing guy that does amazing work.
Brian Elias: Brian has a painting company and is one of the pastors of our church. He painted my entire house, some of my offices and some of my friends homes. I couldn't recommend Brian enough! Besides regular painting, he has an amazing talent of painting certain techniques that would be only seen in your home and no where else. I'll post a picture of my favorite room in the house at another time that will blow you away!
Jennifer Elias: Jennifer is one of, if not, the biggest Lia Sophia party consultant in NJ. If you need a party done, she is a must contact. Also, She is amazing at quickbooks and my company is sending her work at home to save us time at the office.

Tyler Hansen: Tyler is an amazingly talented guitar player. He teaches guitar lessons on a weekly basis and travels to your house.
She can work out of the house or even consider a full / part time job with tons of experience.
Greg Elias: Greg is a teacher and a football coach. If you hear of any positions opening up in your school district please let me know as I have his resume to send out to you ASAP. Greg is also open to other types of employment. I know Greg and he will succeed at anything he does.

Day 61 - Juggling Act!
Good Evening. It is 10:30pm...do you know where your kids are? LOL
Today was a juggling act for me. I had work that needed to get done but also had missionary work that had to get accomplished today. It's tough to decide what comes first between these two options. Both are equally important. As I pushed through work, I would take a break to work on the family I was helping. Finally, God stepped in and told me to stop worrying, it's in HIS hands. And I took a walk around the building and trusted it into his will. And when I came back to the office everything started to work out without being much work at all. Now I ask you, If you trust God, will he fail? Never! AMEN?
I feel that by helping this family I have shown others just how great our God is! A client donated a car, a client donated money, a client donated a gift card and mostly without me asking. I just told them the story of what God was having me do and they offered. Amazing. I was just trying to change one life at a time and feel like 10 lives were changed today.
I will have more time tomorrow to REALLY write a good post but my brain is fried! I need sleep to recharge the batteries! So goodnight for now!

Day 60 - Blessed!
Good late evening everyone. Sorry for the late post. I was up early this morning helping a family in need that my non profit Time for Action, our church Alive Again, and through Jesus we are getting them back on their feet. This family was losing faith and through our church family, our outreach, our love and the Holy Spirit they are seeing God work miracles in their lives. There is still a long road ahead over the next few weeks for them but we all know that God will provide. AMEN?
So tomorrow will be another long day for me but at least I have an easy day at work to play catch up for the time I've spent this week out of the office on a mission. I have learned a valuable lesson through all of this. I thought I could do everything on my own and today God spoke to me and said you can't do ANYTHING on your own! AMEN?
Our church Alive Again is really starting to grow. Our pastors have done a great job with outreach and supporting all of our congregations missions. Big or small! I have a feeling all the seats will be filled this Sunday! If you want to come check us out and see what we are all about and feel the love of Christ in the building every Sunday then check out this website for more information. It is still a work in progress but the meat and potatoes are on the site. http://aliveagainalliance.com/
After a long day we went to prayer night at Pastor Bill's which was much needed for me tonight. The stress of today was lifted and God showed up in a big way for me tonight. It's always through prayer and worship that Jesus reveals himself to me an keeps me grounded. Though song, I am reminded and empowered to walk in the footsteps of Jesus every minute of every day.
Here are some pics from our church Alive Again Ocean County Park Service and Pig Roast!
Simple song lyrics that are so powerful:
Sorry for the short post. I need to be up at 5am and need some sleep. I hope something I wrote inspired you tonight. If anything, it should be, "I WANT MORE OF YOU GOD!" Because who can't use more God? I pray tonight that the God sets a fire in your soul that you can't control because it's glorious.

Day 59 - Time for Action!
Good morning everyone. I am at work early today asking God for his help. You see, I have a couple projects to work on this morning and afternoon but something really important came up in my life.
My wife Kim and I decided to open a 501(3c) Non Profit Organization called: Time For Action!
I thank all of you for listening to me this morning! Please let me know if you can help in anyway!
Thanks and God Bless You!
~Scott
My wife Kim and I decided to open a 501(3c) Non Profit Organization called: Time For Action!
This isn't the finished Logo yet but it's what I have right now! Mark from Alive Again is so amazingly talented and he is going to work on this more! Thanks Mark.
Our idea to open this Non Profit came from me reading ACTS 20:35 where Jesus says, "It is more blessed to give than to receive." Our church is located just outside Lakewood and many of our congregation teach and coach at Lakewood High School. As you may or may not know, this area has been hit hard by the recession.
During the Sunday Luau yesterday, we met a family who is in dire need. Our friend Lew has been filling me in on this family all week and it's been weighing on my heart. Long story short, after meeting with them we knew it was Time for Action.
The family consists of father and mother, and 3 children. They were living with their mother but her house got condemned and will be homeless by Thursday. The older mother got placed into a 1 bedroom house and cannot have anyone else living there because of state regulations.
We sat with the family yesterday and talked about jobs, needs and options. The father has an interview today and most likely will be hired on the spot. My friend Joe DeFalco is driving him and hour and a half away for the interview. Thanks Joe. The mother also has a per diem job but cannot get there because where they are currently placed doesn't allow for her to travel to work. Cost vs. wage doesn't make sense!
So we immediately jumped into action and found them a place to stay in Lakewood. Time for Action is helping with the security deposit and first months rent. I, as a financial advisor, will be meeting with them monthly to help them budget with their income and bills.
But there are still needs for this family! We need a car. One that can be donated or one that can be purchased at a great deal. They will be moving into an apartment starting from scratch. No beds, no plates, no anything! I have already called my good friend Jim who gets cars in from impounds from the police. He just so happens to be getting some cars in this week. He thinks he can help us out.
I am not asking for donations of money from any of you! I am asking you to think of your life and look around and look at your possessions. We at Time for Action are doing this not for us, but to Glorify God. All the glory goes to him. I wouldn't even be mentioning this on my blog if I didn't feel that there was more help out there for this family. Clothes, lamps, silverware, tables, chairs, etc. Just look around your house and everything you see is everything they need.
All donations will be tax deductible on your tax return as I can give you a receipt. So today I just ask you to pray! Pray for Time for Action to succeed in this mission, pray for this family, pray for yourselves to look at your possessions and really think if you are using them the way someone less fortunate could use them. To us they might be just possessions, to the family they might just be a life saver.
During yesterday's event at the park, this family showed up. They didn't ask for help once they just asked for prayer. And even though I knew what was going on, no on else did. And they praised Jesus through song and prayer and told Him that they trust this is HIS will and leave it up to Him. How many of us in times like these could do the same thing? AMEN? They are a family of God! They need our help! You can contact me through email if you have any questions or concerns at scottowel@aol.com.
Galatians 6:2 Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
Luke 6:38 Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”
BIBLE VERSE OF THE DAY: Luke 12:33-34 Sell your possessions, and give to the needy. Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
SONG OF THE DAY: "IF WE EVER NEEDED YOU" (CASTING CROWNS)
I thank all of you for listening to me this morning! Please let me know if you can help in anyway!
Thanks and God Bless You!

Day 58 - Family, Fellowship & Faith!
Good evening everyone! Hope everyone is home safe from their Sunday festivities. What an amazing day we had today.
I slept in until about 7am this morning. Went to D&D for my morning coffee and sat in the backyard listening to my music and reading Matthew this morning in the Bible. Man, if you have never read to story about Jesus Christ, you are missing out. I know some people may have seen the movie The Passage of Christ but have you really read the bible to see the amazing things He did while He was on earth? If you haven't, Matthew is an easy read but very powerful. I highlighted a lot of meaningful verses from this book and forgive me for paraphrasing but I want to get a lot written in a short period of time!
I always tell Mya to walk into school and let the light of the Holy Spirit shine from her. JC said, "Nor do people light a lamp under a basket but on a stand and it gives light to the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others that they may see good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven."
I always tell my kids, don't make promises you can't keep because then they become lies! JC said, "You should not swear falsely but perform to the Lord what you have sworn. Let what you say be simply yes or no, anything more comes from evil!"
I try and tell Kim all the time when she gets mad at someone to kill them with kindness or show them more love or don't let it bother you. JC said, "Do not resist the one who is evil, but if anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. Give to the one who begs from you and do not refuse the one who would borrow from you. You should love you enemies and pray for those who persecute you. For if you love those who love you, what is your reward?"
We all try to practice forgiveness and lets be real, this one is really hard. But JC said, "For if you forgive others, your heavenly Father will forgive you, but if you do not forgive then your Father will not forgive you."
For a long time I've had anxiety. I even took medication for it until I really started trusting God with all my issues. And Jesus says ones of my favorite lines in the bible, "And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his life span? Therefore, do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself."
And as far as how we treat other people, I try and teach my family to treat them with respect. But our man JC says it best, "So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them." Enter the gate for the gate that is WIDE is easy and leads to destruction and those who enter by it may be many. For the gate is NARROW and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few."
So after about an hour of taking this in my family started to wake up and started to get ready for alive Again Church at Ocean Park for service and a pig roast and a day of fellowship. But Brayden had a really bad stomach ache so Kim had to stay home with him as I took the others. We were the for about a half hour before Pastor Bill prayed for Brayden and 5 minutes later I got the text that he was feeling better and on his way with Kim.
You see, our church is something unique. We have a bunch of unique characters and my family is included. We ARE THE CHURCH! We took church to the woods today for service and for some fun afterwords. Why worship IN a church then travel all the way there? To us it doesn't make much sense! And we invited a lot of people to come join us for a fantastic day. There were many that showed up. People passing by must have seen the most diversified group ever but they new that we were different! Not how we looked, but how we acted. With kindness, with love, without judgments towards each other always willing to help someone out. This is my family. And the people I met today are also my family. I applied everything I read in Matthew today to my day today. I let the Holy Spirit shine from my body for everyone to see and gave the Glory to God. I made promises to people today that I knew I could keep. I saw people of different religions gives us some nasty stares today and I prayed for them! I wasn't anxious at all except for the Jets losing but why be anxious because it's obvious God doesn't like the Jets.....or the Giants this year either! And today I treated everyone with respect, they way I like to be treated. And because Alive Again had this amazing event today, Kim and I are able to help a family in terrible need and turn a nightmare situation into an amazing lifestyle change all because of Jesus! AMEN? Today we all entered through the narrow gate to the park and walked out a little different, filled with the Holy Spirit who leads to life! AMEN?
Then we had to leave early to watch TY's first drum recital at Freehold Music. He was amazing. He was in a group with kids older than him and some were fantastic and most Ty had already advanced passed those songs. He was a little nervous but you couldn't tell. He didn't even need to read the sheet music cuz he was ready. And when he finished he received a wonderful round of applause that would make any parent happy.
After the recital we came home and I went downstairs to watch the Jets....big waste of time! I actually fell asleep for about a half hour and woke up and didn't miss a thing. LOL. But it was an amazing day filled with amazing people and I'm overwhelmed with my families love for us and for Jesus's love for us!
