I feel physically strong and mentally strong. Actually stronger than I have ever felt before. But I am saddened for my wife Kim. She came down sick yesterday and I know she will not be feeling well today either. We even had to cancel a small party that we were hosting today for a couple of close friends. So I pray this morning that she is courageous in healing. What I mean by that is my wife does not like to lay in bed, watch TV or sit around. She is always on the go. The only was she will get better is to rest. So I'm going to try my best to make sure she does and at the same time make sure the kids have some fun today.
1 Timothy 3:4-5 ESV
He must manage his own household well, with all dignity keeping his children submissive, for if someone does not know how to manage his own household, how will he care for God's church?
Amen???
As I often do, I want to jump back to yesterday and tell you a little bit about my day. It started off taking Lucas, Mya and her friend Meredith to church. She slept over the night before and was going to the One Direction movie on yesterday with Mya after church. We all met at a new church for service as we are trying to become United with other churches in Monmouth and Ocean County. We might not all be able to play well together, but we all share one belief.....Jesus is our Lord and Savior. So service was fantastic. Walked around and talked to a lot of friends and met a lot of great people. Now if you can't make it to your church on Sunday then that is what you are missing. The fellowship. Remember, WE are the church. We have access to the greatest book in the world and all you have to do is pick it up and read from it or call a friend and talk about God. That's Church people....get used to it!!!!
On the way home Meredith told me she would tell her parents that she wanted to go back to church because at the youth rally the other night they both told me it was one of the greatest events they have ever been to. When I asked why Mya and Meredith's answers were the same. Because we met new people, played great games, sang great songs, and at night we worshiped. And God showed up and opened these girls eyes. He opened their hearts. They looked around and saw other Christians and the way they acted and said I want to be like that. I believe both girls are now on their way to becoming women of God.
When we got home, we had to wait an hour so they could put on their One Direction outfits for the movie and get ready. So I decided to fill the car with gas. I usually go to exxon but for some reason I went to WAWA. There weren't many cars there but I pulled into the last row because I usually don't like to wait so I try and do everything myself before anyone came over. I was listening to some dope Christian rap in the car and the bass was pumping. The young man, 20 yrs old who works their came over to me. I said I got it buddy and instead of leaving he stayed. "What are you listening to?" he asked me. I told him it was Andy so and so and he's a Christian rap artist. He said he loved the beat. So I began a conversation with him and asked about school, work, his life and what's going on. He was clearly lost. Had no direction and I could tell it was bothering him. I then asked him if he goes to church. He explained to me that his parents never pushed it on him and said he can make a choice when he was 18 which religion to choose. I asked if he believed in God. He replied, "I think I do"!
This is when I reached over and gave him a bracelet to this awesome website. You can check it out later and share if you like. http://www.iamsent.net/
I asked him to wear the bracelet today as a reminder when he got home to check out the site. He was curious. He said sure. And then I went off......I couldn't resist....heart racing....."You know, God send his only child to this earth to die for all your sins. If you truly understand and believe this you can be free of everything. All the bad things that may be happening, all the sins you may or not be committing, the misdirection in your life, will all have meaning and purpose if you believe this. God forgives you!" He immediately cuts me off, "God forgive me even if I don't go to church or know him that well?" I replied, "Yes. He loves you. He already has a plan for you. That plan was picked out long before you were born. He is what you are missing in your life." He said, "Wow...God loves me? He will forgive me??? Can this be true???? And why does it say I am sent on the bracelet?" My reply, "I was sent, I wasn't even going to come to this gas station but I did. I was sent for you today from God. Will you go? Will you follow??" He said "Yes I will. I get off work at 5pm and I'm going to check out the website right away." He then asked for my number in case he had any questions and I of course gave him all my information. He then hugged me and said, "I am so glad you stopped here and to have met with you......God bless you!" WOW...WHAT JUST HAPPENED??? GOD BLESS ME???? Yup.....it was just another God encounter. I believe I changed this young man's life yesterday but we shall see. This is Bill. I will check in on him from time to time. But hopefully God has a hold of him right now! Amen?
And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.” Isaiah 6:8 ESV
So I'm excited today to see where God will send me today. I have no plans. I don't force the issue. But everyday for the last 30 days God has shown up in a big way. I pray every morning, day and night. I take time out to worship. I listen to the music. But that's not enough. Always walking forward in the footsteps of Jesus. Act like a man of God, and other will follow. My song for today: Lead Me by Sanctus Real
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ffBG7JAvBiw
I thought this song had a different meaning a long time ago. I realize now that I am the man of the house. I make the decisions. In my life, it's Christ first, my wife and her holiness second and my children third. And all my wants and needs come last. And once you realize this, your life will change forever. For when you are weaker, you are stronger! Through Christ all things are possible!
Have a blessed and safe holiday everyone. I love you. If you decide to drink today in celebration and it get's out of control and you need a ride home just call me! I will come get you! God Bless us ALL!
