Lord, I pray this morning for all my friends, family and followers of this blog. Lord God please show your face to everyone this morning. Whether it's from a sun light beaming from the clouds, a rain drop that falls on their heads, a simple sign to let them know you are with them today. Lord I ask that you fill their hearts with your love so that they can go out into this evil world and fight the daily battles. Protect their work places, protect their homes, protect their children, protect them! Lord put onto their bodies your shield of armor and give them strength to get through the day, one day at a time. Lord, as I continue my walk in your footsteps, please use my mouth, my hands, my feet, my heart to lead by example as I write this post so anyone who reads this knows that YOU are here with me help me write something, anything that someone can apply to their life and hopefully find you Lord. Seek you out and get to know you. Jesus, you said Yourself, "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock; and it will be opened" Matthew 7:7
Lord open our hearts this morning and give is the courage to ask, to seek and to knock so that Your door will be opened for us today. I ask this in Jesus name..........AMEN!
For some reason, I didn't feel like getting out of bed this morning and going to work but I knew it had to be done. So I prayed. I got up, took a shower and headed to work. Of course stopping at Dunkin Donuts this morning. As I was worshiping through song on the car ride God told me to call Lew. Lew was not at prayer night last night because he is working on a ministry that will bring bible study groups to schools in the Ocean / Monmouth county area. He is an amazing guy who mentors a couple of unfortunate High school football players. I mentioned that my wife and I would like to help out with new clothes and school supplies a while ago. Lew answered the phone on the way to school and we talked for a little. I again mentioned the clothes and supplies. He told me that he's been busy and forgot to put the list together for me but yesterday he realized that one the kids didn't have any school supplies and school is starting. God made me call Lew this morning and tomorrow this kid will have supplies! God encounter? Amen!
Yesterday started out pretty similar. I came to work and asked God to protect my office like I do ever day. A client came in yesterday, angry man, and I continued to the appointment and finished my job. He sees all my God plaques and faith pictures and questions me on it. As soon as I mentioned the word God, he said goodbye and bolted from the office. God protects this office as His house, His place of business and the thought of someone blaspheming his name he immediately made this guy leave me office. Wow. God Encounter? Yes!
I took the rest of the day off to go to my well, the Manasquan River. My Pastor Brian during his sermon a couple weeks ago told a story from the bible of a women who was shunned from everyone but when she went to the well for a drink of water Jesus was there. Even through her sins, he told her to drink to water and then she will follow Christ and repent and her sins would be forgiven. Ever since I heard this story, when I am feeling like I really need to connect with God, I go to my well. EVERY time I have gone here, I have had a God encounter. And yesterday I did as well.
Last night my wife, daughter and myself went to prayer group and to worship our Savior. It's always a great night. I'm actually thinking of starting one at my house so if you are interested, contact me either on this post or on my phone. When we were sharing stories, my daughter Mya explained that at the Youth Rally even though she knows God, this was the first time she felt Him in her heart! God Encounter? Amen!
We got home and Mya asked me into the backyard because she wanted to pray with me about her anxiety over school. She needed me there because she didn't think she could pray. So freaking out to say the right thing I did some quick research on fear and then thought, I don't need research, I've had fear, I know how to handle this and I was prepared. We talked about fear and I said OK Mya, let's do this. And this 14 year old child prayed out loud for 5 minutes. Hitting every point that I would have told her. Mya had a God encounter last night!!!!
The greatest book on earth says "Do Not Fear" 365 times. That's enough for each day of the year. So if you are fearful of something, pray, praise and use your Do Not Fear Card!!! It's easy, we all have these cards. It's just having a conversation with Jesus! Amen?
Everyone on this earth has problems. If you didn't you would be perfect. And I only know ONE perfect person. But we tend to only pray when we need something or when we are having troubles. God loves prayer. But he's not Santa Claus. You need to live the life. Follow the footsteps always moving forward and always praising in good times and bad times. His plan for you has been laid out many years before you were born, but if you don't get to know Jesus, you might never figure out your plan on earth! Amen?
John 8:1-11
A women was caught in adultry, in the act. What if she was never caught. She was bought to Jesus as a sinner and Jesus said, "Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more."
Luke 23: 32-43
Two criminals were side by side next to Jesus on the day of crucifixion. Both were criminals. One rebuked Him and the other repented. What if this criminal got away. Would he have had the chance to be next to Jesus and be saved. The one who repented Jesus said to him, "Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise."
These God encounters don't happen to everyone. You need to first commit yourself to Christ and then continue to follow him and he will wipe your sins away and give you a fresh start. And then, and only then will you have true God encounters. Just like I have been having every day for the past 32 days. And let me tell you, if you haven't had one yet, you are missing out on some amazing times. Who are you going to be today. The person society wants you to be, or the person that God made you to be? When will you realize? Today, Tomorrow, never? I was sent........will you go? Will you follow?
Love you guys! Love my Church Alive Again! Love my family! Most importantly, I love my God! Join me, it's a great ride!
