Day 55 - The Passion

Good morning everyone....how we doing today? I feel amazing. I have a very busy day at work so I woke up at 5am and got to work by 6 so I could write this blog. It starts my day off right writing about our Lord and Savior and what he is doing in our lives.
I believe they are no such thing as coincidences, only God encounters. So Tuesday night at prayer Lew was looking at Mya and his heart was softened. The way he mentioned it to me the next morning is that his heart was breaking for Mya and he was praying for her all night and the following morning so much that he had to call me first thing and talk to me about it. He just felt she was going through something and needed prayer and needed more Jesus in her life. What he didn't know was that a couple days earlier Mya was upset and was thinking of quiting the High School dance team because the 4 freshman she met before school started and became friends with were not talking to her and she didn't know why. This was really bothering her.
So I picked her up from school yesterday after dance and she got in the car and I was ready to listen to speech about quiting and instead she tells me that 2 of the girls were talking with her. There was a misunderstanding and now they are BFF's! LOL.
Then I asked her about school and she mentioned that she had a meeting with the Guidance Counselor like most freshman do to go over their work load and activities. She was then asked what is your #1 goal to accomplish this year at St John Vianney and she responded, "To start a bible study with other students!" WOW....AMEN? What most people don't know is that even in public schools, they cannont keep God out of the schools. If a student does to the principal and asks to start a group like a bible study, by law they are not allowed to deny them. Isn't that amazing? You mean the youth can beat society and what it tells us and bring Christ into school? YES!
I got home last night just in time for dinner with everyone at the table. It was Ty's turn to pray. He spent most of the day writing it down because he wanted to make sure he didn't leave anyone out. It was so cute and so personal. After a long day and a great dinner that my wife prepared, I was ready to put on the PJ's and watch some TV because Kim and Mya were going out for a couple hours. And watching the boys is simple, they either play their IPADS or XBOX at night before bed. But Lucas asked if I could take him to gamestop to buy the new FIFA 14 soccer game with his gift cards. As much as I didn't want to go, I put the three boys in my car and off we went. In the car Ty asked a question about God and the earth. So I thought about my post yesterday and pulled up my bible app and said let's see what the bible says about God and how the earth is created. Perfect, let's start with Genesis chapter 1, from the beginning. We went through the first 3 days of creation before we got to the store. We ran into the store, got the game and got back in the car in under 4 minutes. This is a miracle. Usually the boys can spend a half hour looking at games, playing the systems in the store but today they wanted to hear more about God! AMEN?
So on the way home we finished bible studying up to creation of man! They asked a million questions after ever day God created something new and I explained everything. They totally got it! The last question before we got out of the car came from TY. He said, "Dad, how can anyone NOT believe in God?" Great question from an 8 year old! My only answer was, "Because they don't know him or want to know him and it's your job to make him know!" He said, "Why wouldn't everyone want to hear the amazing things that he created?" Now....this is only after 7 days of creation in the bible. I can't wait to bible study with them everyday! AMEN?
So I put the twins to bed at 8pm and turned on The Passion of Christ. Lucas was sitting on the couch with me and even though there are some really gruesome scenes in the movie, I felt he needed to see it. Hearing about the death of Jesus is on thing, but seeing it is another. I had to help narrate a little in the beginning so he understood who was who and what was happening. Then came the part where he was beaten and tortured. I'm listening to Lucas say, "Oh man, Ouch, Oh my Gosh!" Then I look over and he's crying. I asked him if he's ok and he said yes, I just can't believe they would do that to Jesus. He was crying for Jesus! So of course, I started crying. LOL
At the end of the movie we talked about it and now Lucas GETS IT! He kissed me goodnight and said it was the best movie he's ever seen and tonight he's not praying for himself but instead praying FOR Jesus! Amen?
So if you are going through a tough time in your life, if you feel like someone is betraying or lying to you, or you feel like no one is there for you, or you feel like the world is beating you down, or your sick or injured, just think about what the Son of God, Jesus Christ went through for us. Then thank Him and praise Him!
For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit.

Bible Verse of the Day: 1 John 3:16
By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.
